Air trapped inside a central heating installation leads to a reduced emission of heat and has harmful consequences both for the installation as a whole as well as for the individual components. In order to prevent these problems or to solve them it is important to install good venting equipment. In the case of Flamco you can choose from four possibilities.

First of all, there are the Flexvent floatvents intended chiefly for local venting. For effective total de-aeration of the entire installation you can use a Flamcovent air separator. Its operation is based on a proven method from the process industry to separate gases (air) from liquids (water). Thanks to Flamcovent air separators, this unique method can now also be employed for the ideal venting of any heating or cooling system. Giving the best possible results. Alternatively, you can also make use of Flexair air separators. Their operation is based on the principle of the centrifuge and they are particularly effective at higher water velocities.

Finally de-aeration can be integrated in building management systems as an automated service thanks to the ENA de-aeration and top-up unit. Gas dissolved in water is released when lowering the pressure or raising the temperature (Henry’s law). A pressure drop therefore results in less gas dissolved in the water. The ENA takes water in from the system into a cylinder, lowers the pressure in the cylinder (resulting in highly efficient de-aeration) and then pumps it back into the system.
